End 1: 90° Penta Reversing Ratchet, Hex
End 2: 5/16″ Reversing Allen Ratchet
Penta Socket Allen Wrench model BW-251 is made for working on padmount transformers and secondary pedestals. A popular member of BugWrench tools, this wrench has a 2” working length of the Hex (Allen) of the BW-251 is just right for the transformer bars with covers.
Penta Socket Allen Wrench Insulated BugWrench BW-251 comes with Ratchet Penta fitting with built-in 3/8” hex socket for “Twist-Off” padmount equipment locks and Heavy-Duty Forged 5/16” Hex (Allen) with a 2” working length for insulated or non-insulated transformer secondary bars.
- The model BW-251 insulating handle is formulated of a high strength and high dielectric polymer.
- A see-through port in the center of the handle to confirm that the two ends are not electrically connected.
- The unique design of the handle provides twice the Metal-to-Metal Electrical Isolation compared to other brands (*based on tests on model BW-223).
- The handle comes in a High-Visibility yellow color.
- The handle is designed with a visual and physical indicator permanently molded (in a shape of a rib) in 2 positions on the handle. This rib provides an indication of the “Isolated Area” of the handle. Holding the wrench behind the appropriate rib, in the “Isolated Area” provides a 1,000 Volt Rating between the metal working end and the operator’s hand. Independent electrical tests were performed on a BW-223 wrench verifying that the electrical performance of the BugWrench handle far exceeds the standard published “Leakage Current” (at various voltages) and “Dielectric Strength” requirements.
- This BugWrench has heavy-duty forged Allen head with built in reversing ratchet buttons. The buttons are much easier to operate while wearing gloves, than the lever type reversing mechanism on other brand’s heads.
